Personal bio
from rio de janeiro beaches to the connecticut cold
My parents came to the United States in 1991 and soon after, I was born in Connecticut. English however, is not my first language as we only spoke Portuguese in my home. After enrolling in school (and beginning my ESL classes) I was fortunate enough to grow up spending part of the year in Connecticut and part of the year in Rio de Janeiro with my family. Growing up between two very different cultures allowed me to code-switch and navigate cultural differences with ease from an early age. I received my Communications degree from the University of Connecticut (go Huskies!) with an International Studies minor, and began working immediately. My job allowed me to witness first-hand the importance of connection and culture as I helped Expats, and their families, settle into their new international assignments. It became clear that, despite being out of school, I still spent a lot of time researching and studying about communication, connection, and growth, as I needed these in order to better understand the people I worked with and subsequently became areas of interest to me. I obtained my MBA in International Business in the Spring of 2021, shortly after becoming fully vaccinated and surviving the COVID Pandemic of 2020 without contracting the virus!
In my free time, I like to daydream of motorcycle road trips I’d like to take and spend time with my 5 year old dog Fender, and my husband.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCES
DATASITE, PRODUCT SUPPORT SPECIALIST
2022 - PRESENT
Through my remote office, I provide technical support on the SaaS platform to users to enhance their overall product and service experience. I strive to provide white glove service to high-level clients throughout their Merger & Acquisition lifecycle. I create service tickets in Salesforce or respond to service requests in both English and Portuguese to assist our global clients. I conduct various training sessions with clients on the various Datasite platforms via phone and web meetings through Zoom and Teams. Each session is tailored to ensure that the platform can meet their specific needs along with their team. Given my fast learning and progress on the platform, having passed all my required accreditations on the first try, I also work as a mentor to our new joiner team.
CARTUS, INTERCULTURAL PROGRAM SPECIALIST
2016 - 2018
I assisted in tailoring intercultural coaching programs for expats and their families relocating abroad to better ensure assignment success. Programs included coaching on the best ways to conduct business in the new country, the cultural foundations of the country, and daily life in the country as well. In order to do so, I worked with our global coaches and suppliers that were experts in their respective fields in order to personalize the programs according to the participants and company needs. Participants were later sent surveys to evaluate the program and its content. I maintained an excellent program quality during my time there.
PRESTIGE STAFFING, TECHNICAL RECRUITER
2015 - 2016
As a technical recruiter, I identified qualified candidates to fill high-level technical positions in and around the NYC area. I had to work on filling multiple roles for different clients simultaneously and ensure that progress was being made with each of them. When I was interested in a candidate, I would get in touch with them to discuss the role and the company in more detail. I conducted preliminary interviews with candidates and prepared feedback for the client as well as feedback for the candidate.
CENTER FOR INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS EDUCATION AND RESEARCH, ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT
2014 - 2015
The Center for International Business Education and Research (CIBER) was “created by the US Congress to increase and promote the nation's capacity for international understanding and competitiveness.” I was very lucky to work for 1 of the 15 national centers that were designated by the U.S. Department of Education. I assisted the program director with daily office tasks, meeting preparations, and keeping in touch with other CIBER offices across the country. My biggest projects during this time were revising and submitting the budget proposal to the U.S. Department of Education, and hosting the case competition at the UConn campus with students from around the world. I also served as amateur photographer and videographer for UConn CIBER events.
BANFIELD PET HOSPITAL, CLIENT SERVICE COORDINATOR
2012 - 2013
Never a bad day when you’re surrounded by pets! At Banfield Pet Hospital I was the first and last point of contact for clients bringing their pets in for appointments and maintained positive client relationships by following up via phone or e-mail after visits. I scheduled appointments for routine and emergency visits while being mindful of the doctors schedules and time constraints. I also had general office responsibilities such as cleaning the patient rooms and managing cash register operations.
APPLE INC, SALES SPECIALIST
2010 - 2011
I empowered customers to make informed and confident purchase decisions by informing them of products and specifications. I also led workshops and one-to-one sessions for customers to demo Apple software and products. As part of the visuals team, I worked various overnight shifts in order to launch window and wall displays in accordance to Apple instructions. My favorite part of this job was being part of the product launch team and assisting in maintaining the customers that were in-line or waiting in store excited and in high spirits.
freelancing
rideshare driver
2018 - 2020
While getting my International Master's in Business Administration, I worked as a Rideshare driver for Uber & Lyft. While doing so, I Focused on customer service and ensured riders had a pleasant trip by maintaining a 4.9 rating. I worked nights mainly and am positive that doing this for some time will cure any writer’s block given the experiences and stories that come out of this work. I worked throughout the tri-state & New England area as some trips would take me to neighboring states.
content & copy writing
2020 - 2022
When the COVID pandemic hit, I switched from rideshare driving to content writing. I wrote for companies like The Hoth, which provided content for different sites, and Hot Cars, which had content exclusively for their site. Through this, I learned about SEO optimization and how to incorporate different SEO strategies in a single article while ensuring that it flowed naturally. No keyword stuffing allowed! I managed my own time in meeting the weekly deadlines and article goals for the month.
